News and Comment about Polish Property

Thursday 14th June 2007

It seems like property in Poland is constantly being talked about at the moment, especially in Poland. Not a day seems to go past without talk in Poland of the rising house prices. Polish real estate is on a high at the moment, talk is of the next city to experience rapid growth.

Where once the cities of Krakow and Warsaw were all foreign investors seemed to talk about when it comes to investment now it seems Poznan, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Lodz have become favourable with investors. These cities have seen and are seeing some rapid growth and are good bets if you are looking to invest.

Don't discount the smaller Polish cities. Cities such as Olsztyn, Białystok, Bydgoszcz and other towns less well known to foreign investors are also experiencing property price rises. Investors looking to buy now would be wise to invest in one of these cities. Prices start from a lower base than the larger cities and in some cases are rising quite rapidly.

The three cities mentioned above have sizeable university populations with a constant supply of students looking to rent property. Buying to let to students in cities such as the ones mentioned above could provide a stable flow of rental income.

The University of Warmia and Mazury http://www.uwm.edu.pl  is located in Olsztyn and was founded in 1999, it's a young university that has taken itself to the heart of the city. Olsztyn has acheived greater status since it's founding and the city is growing in terms of importance. Property prices are only benefiting from this.

  3. Maybe these smaller cities will be like some cities in the UK where it took far longer than the south east for property values to rise but when they did people made good profits. There will surely be property hotspots in Poland for years to come, it's just finding them.
